Latest Announcements

Hello Stingray Families!
  • School will be completely virtual from August 24th to September 21st.  Our projected return to campus is September 21st.  Prior to that date, you will have the option to choose to continue virtual learning or to come to campus.

  • We will organize a technology distribution date for those of you who need technology.

  • We will use the Schoology platform to deliver all online instruction.  We will use the educational software Edgenuity for lesson materials.  You will have access to both Schoology and Edgenuity when school begins.

  • I have had several questions about school supplies for the year.  As an administration team, we recognize the hardship that this pandemic has caused for many of our SST families.  We have decided to keep supplies to a minimum this year.  Your students will need several pens (blue or black ink only), pencils, and a folder and a spiral notebook for each core subject -- math, language arts, science, and social studies.  You will also need a folder and a spiral notebook for elective classes. When we return to campus, teachers may ask for classroom donations as needed.  **Dual Credit students** You will have a more detailed supply list from your dual credit professors when classes begin.

  • We are working with our Central Office on finalizing course schedules and elective selections for our middle school students.  As soon as that information is available, we will send a survey via Parent Square.

  • If you choose to return to campus after September 21st, please be aware of the following policies:  for the health and safety of students and staff, we are requiring all students and staff  to wear a face covering.  We are also implementing a mesh or clear plastic backpack policy for this school year. This policy is in consideration for the physical safety and health of our students and staff since we will not utilize lockers in order to avoid close contact between students.

  • If you need to update your contact information, please email our front office mbarnes@ssttx.org or mavila@ssttx.org

  • If you have any questions, you can contact us via Parent Square or email at ksheehan@ssttx.org

  • All SST campuses will offer online instruction only beginning on August 24.
  • Online instruction will continue for all students for the first four weeks of the school year.
  • For those parents who elect in-person instruction, those students will report to school on September 21, and online learning will continue for all other students.
  • Though this is the current SST plan, decisions made by the Texas Education Agency and the local health authorities can alter plans.
  • The continuing spread of COVID-19 requires that state and local officials make difficult decisions about protecting the health and safety of Texas school staff and students. SST will follow local and state guidelines for onsite and online learning.

Since March, SST has high academic achievement expectations and has been working intensely to strengthen the quality of online instruction. In light of the professional training and instructional material in which we have invested, you can trust that the online instruction will be rigorous and robust. Chromebooks, tablets and Wi-Fi hotspots will be provided to any student who needs them.

I deeply appreciate your patience, kindness, and support. Though the uncertainly and constant changes may be frustrating, we are all doing our best to serve our SST family. May we each do our best to reduce the spread of COVID-19 so that we can all return to classrooms as soon as possible. We are a resilient and strong family committed to the health, safety, and success of all SST students.

Warm Regards,

Mehmet Nalcaci
Superintendent
