SST Advancement is proud to serve our military families by providing support to parents and students. 

SST Advancement welcomes our military families! We aim to provide support to our military families to help ease the challenges they face due to deployment and relocation. This page was created to provide you with valuable information to assist you.

Thank you for choosing our community. Our aim is to support you and your children, ease into our community and schools.

Simply provide a copy of a military order requiring your transfer to a military installation in or adjacent to the district’s attendance zone. The parent or guardian has up to 10 days from the arrival date specified in the order to provide SST Advancement with proof of residence.

Relocation
In order to help our military-connected students adjust to a new school environment, we will be offering a variety of introductory services. Student-led programs and school administrators will help new military-connected students become aware of our core values, enrollment processes, tutoring services, and student code of conduct.

SST Advancement is a tuition-free public charter school focused on STEM education and serves students Pre-K-7 in Houston. Since SST Advancement opened its doors in 2016, we have reimagined traditional education to be more student-focused and STEM-based.

STEM for All: Every student will graduate with a strong understanding and appreciation of STEM and how it connects to the real world.

Opportunities for Military-Connected Students

Parents can enroll students in our empowerment and enrichment programs, clubs, or extracurricular activities. We offer discounted clubs and enrichment programs for military-connected students of active duty, National Guard, and Reserve Personnel.
 
Note: Students in the tutoring programs are not eligible to participate in any clubs or extracurricular activities. 
The Dean of Academics will inform students and parents at the end of the first month of the school year. All students, Parents, and guardians will be informed of tutoring schedules by mail and email. 
 
Interventions and pull-outs will be provided after the data meetings with students and teachers. 
Parents, students and/or teachers can request by application form, or  email to see our campus counselor. The Counselor is available for online or in-person counseling services.

  • If you are applying for PreK, please review this page for additional information.
  • To qualify for Kindergarten, your child must be 5 years of age on or before September 1st of the school year.
  • To qualify for 1st grade, your child must be 6 years of age on or before September 1st of the school year.

Our campus teaches the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) curriculum established by the Texas Education Agency (TEA) and codified in the Texas Administrative Code, Title 19 (19 TAC). Our students are also earning high school credit at our campus. Project Lead the way (PLTW) and Algebra I courses have been offered. Our campus earned all possible state distinctions in 2019 and became A-rated by TEA.

She helps parents ease the transition of the mobile military lifestyle and can assist prior to your PCS, upon arrival, while at your installation, and when you prepare to depart for your next duty station.
