SCHOOL OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY (SST) is pleased to announce that all campuses statewide met standards and many campuses receiving multiple distinctions on the annual State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR) exam.

The Texas Education Agency released the 2017 state accountability ratings in August for 1, 2017 for school districts, including charters, and 8,673 campuses.

All public schools, along with their districts, are graded on a pass or fail system with SST exceeding all state requirements. SST’s two districts performed well, plus exceeded or met all accountability standards.

100% of SST districts were rated Met Standard compared to 95.4% that of all Texas schools.

100% of SST campuses achieved the rating of Met Standard compared to 89.6% that of all Texas schools.

More than 84% of SST’s students passed the STAAR exam in 015827 SST District and 78% of SST’s students passed the STAAR exam in 015831 SST Discovery district this year for all subjects, 6% and 3% percentage points higher than the state average of 75%.

67% of SST campuses earned distinctions in four to seven categories that were evaluated for that campus compared to 2% in Texas.

The TEA announced campus and district distinctions in September of 2017. Also, for the SST Discovery District we received a Postsecondary Readiness distinction. To access accountability reports and search for your district/campus, please visit the TEA website
